VOLUNTEERS STILL NEEDED FOR 2026
Our league is still very much in need of volunteers across all areas.
Please note that not all positions are Board seats — some are committee or support roles that offer flexible involvement. We’d love to have roles filled before the new year, so please reach out as soon as possible if you’re interested in helping out!
While Board members are traditionally nominated and voted in, we often don’t receive enough volunteers to follow this process. If multiple people are interested in the same role, we’ll move forward with the traditional nomination and voting format.
We’re currently seeking support in the following areas:
Treasurer
Oversees league finances, including budgets, payments, and financial reporting. Works closely with the Board to ensure transparency and accountability.
SSMBA / House League Coordinators
One per age division, working closely with our SSMBA Convenor. Supports coaches and teams with communications, rosters, and league requirements.
Rep & Select Coordinators
Works with coaches and team managers to support our competitive and select programs. Coordinates with YSBA (York South Baseball Association) and OBA (Ontario Baseball Association) to ensure compliance and smooth communication between all. These teams will also need game-day parent support (scorekeeping, pitch counting, etc).
6U & 7U Coordinators
Helps organize and run our youngest divisions! The 6U division is beginner-focused and ideal for those who enjoy teaching basic skills in a fun, active environment. The 7U division runs in collaboration with Beaver Valley in a “mini loop.”
7U Local League Coaches
Lead and mentor young players while teaching baseball fundamentals in a fun, team-focused environment.
High school students looking to earn volunteer hours (or just eager to help!) are welcome for our 6U and 7U age groups!
9U–18U SSMBA / House League Coaches
One coach per team (minimum!) for ages 9U–18U. Focus on player development, teamwork, and sportsmanship. These teams will also need game-day parent support (scorekeeping, pitch counting, etc).
Sponsorship & Fundraising Committee
Helps secure community sponsorships and organize fundraising efforts to support league operations and player programs.
Tournament Committee
Plans and runs league tournaments, including logistics, scheduling, and volunteer coordination.
General Help
Perfect for anyone who wants to pitch in but isn’t sure where to start. Any extra hands are welcome — we’ll find a role that fits your skills and availability!
A huge thank-you to all of our current and past volunteers — your time, effort, and enthusiasm make our league possible!
